~ Shannon & Terry - Sat 25th Oct 08

Posted by erinna on October 29, 2008 under Weddings

Shannon & Terrys wedding on Saturday was one of feathers, fun and really good weather (and fantastic dancers as well!)! After threatening, and raining a little bit in the morning, the clouds held off and we got some of my favourite weather - stormy clouds! Made for some great shots.

The ceremony was held at Brookleigh Estate, and it suits weddings really well. Ive fallen in love with Shannon’s niece who was flowergirl, and the details at this wedding were just decadent! :)

I had great fun! Thankyou Shannon & Terry for the great day, and Im sorry these are posted a little later than I initially promised.

Luv,

The New Site is LIVE!!

Posted by erinna on October 28, 2008 under Business

Im VERY excited!!!!!!!!

My new website is up and live and, the best thing, working!!!!

So if youve not done it yet, head on over to check it out: www.erinna.com.au
My old site was very old (a few years) and Ive really needed to update it for a while, but just recently I registered a new business name “Erinna Imagery” to define my business direction a little more.

I chose Erinna Imagery for a few reasons:
1. I quite like my name so I wanted to keep it, and many people know and keep tabs on this blog and website, so I didnt want to be changing
2. My work isnt just about photography, and its not all about me (despite what I tell my wedding clients! hehehe ;) ) - I am promoting my imagery, and all that encaptulates. The difference between ‘photography’ and ‘imagery’ could be defined as the process and the end product. I use photography as my medium to create my imagery, but so much more goes into it - my education, my style, how I see the world, as well as the technical aspects of the photography.
3. My direction in my photography is leaning more towards the artistic side of things, with my wall art soon to be available for purchase, as well as a few other projects I have in the pipeline.

So now thats all explained and told, you have to tell me what you think - of the new name and the new website!

And for anyone who is interested, I made the website all by myself - arent I clever? ;)

Now for Shannon & Terry’s wedding previews, which are a day late! Sorry! They will be up really soon!

Love,

~ Mums Garden

Posted by erinna on October 13, 2008 under Nature, Personal

My mums garden is one of my favourite, and more accessible subjects, and yesterdays light was fantastic! So out I went with camera in hand, and pottered around (I love being able to potter when taking photos - if you ever wonder what I love doing - its pottering with my camera! hehehe).

So here are some shots - sick of flower macro shots yet? hmmm nup, Im not! :D Three guesses for what my favourite season is? ;)

~ Rediscover - the beach

Posted by erinna on October 13, 2008 under Nature, Personal, Rediscover

I realised the other day that Ive not visited the beach in a long long time, so when I found myself in the vicinity nearing sunset time, I thought that it was high time I burrowed my toes in the sand. :)

Luckily I had my camera, it was a fantastic day for it although it did get very cold very quickly, but I had great fun laying in the sand to get some images (its all about perspective) and listening to a serenaded by a group of boys who were toasting the sunset, and serenading it with guitar and voice ;)

Ive now realised that I would love to do some shots of places that I dont visit often - its nice to rediscover places - so keep an eye out for them coming up.

~ something a little different

Posted by erinna on October 6, 2008 under Nature, Personal

After my three pre wedding shoots, I arrived at my mums place on Sunday afternoon just as the sun was getting low, and as I dragged my bag from the car, I realised Id yet to take some photos of the feathery bits that were about to drop from the tree out the front. So I turned up my stereo (I dont have a CD player, so it was all tape deck - yeah baby!), kept the car doors open and set about to capture the intriguing leaves and light that caught my attention.

As I moved around the tree, I kept finding other interesting objects and shapes, and gorgeous light that kept me shooting. And as I listened to the haunting rendition of Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley, chorussed by the magpies in the trees, sitting on the ground awed by the amazing light reflecting off some wild oat grass, I sighed and realised just how much I love my life and my profession :)

So here are some shots - I normally dont follow portrait shoots so closely with nature work, but I love these too much not to share them. Keep in mind, they are all natural light, as is the way I usually work. :)

I love blue skies - one of the wonderful thing about Perth! The sky!!

and sometimes I do wonder what something would look like out of focus :)

Something a little different for me - I do like to play around with post editing sometimes - so hardly any contrast is unusual for me

~ Michelle & CJ - pre-wedding shoot

Posted by erinna on October 6, 2008 under Pre-Wedding Shoot

The last shoot for the weekend, and at one of my favourite locations! I loooove this spot, and today was the busiest Ive seen it, which didnt help Michelle & CJ who were conscious of having an audience ;) But they did a sterling job, and we certainly got the lovely weather for this location!

Michelle was actually refered to me by Rebecca, who will also be doing her hair on the day, which is exciting! :) Michelle is going to make a gorgeous bride, and CJ is a bit of a spunk - especially with those tattoos! :)

Thanks guys, I shall see you in a few weeks!!

~ Aimee & Brad - pre-wedding shoot

Posted by erinna on October 6, 2008 under Pre-Wedding Shoot

Ive known Aimee for a few years now, and she has always said that when she got married, I would there to photograph it.. and I do believe I was one of the first services she booked when she got engaged to Bread.. sorry Brad ;)

Im greatly looking forward to their wedding. They are such a gorgeous couple, and apparently were feeling uncomfortable during these shots, but there was so much laughter and love that I think any nervousness dissolved fairly quickly.

And as per usual, I shot waaay too much, but that just means you get to see more photos!!

What a spunk!

Sorry Brad, I had to include this shot!!

The so very gorgeous Aimee

And I dont want to know what Brad was doing behind my back!!

I love a couple who can dance, and Salsa is even better!

I just love this series :)

And some fantastic posing guys!!

And my FAVOURITE shot of the day!! :)

~ Shannon & Terry - prewedding shoot

Posted by erinna on October 6, 2008 under Pre-Wedding Shoot

Shannon & Terry started off my weekend - 3 pre-wedding shoots for the weekend! Unfortunately, on Saturday, the weather was miserable - and I dont normally say that, but it was cold and drizzled constantly! The last time I saw that, was in Melbourne, since Perth usually rains, and then just stops!

However, this couple are champions, and we did the best we could - and the poor puppies were very compliant (despite never looking at the camera - hehehe), and just too cute!
